Silk Hospitality Presents Georgia's Culinary Heritage at ITB China Travel Exhibition

Georgia was presented as the Official Partner Country at ITB China, one of the largest international travel trade shows, held in Shanghai. The presentation of Georgian hospitality and gastronomy was organised by the Government of Georgia and the Georgian National Tourism Administration, with Silk Hospitality leading the culinary experience.
Across Georgia's 400-square-metre exhibition space, guests had the opportunity to discover Georgian culture, folklore, gastronomy and wine over the course of three days.
Silk Hospitality hosted guests throughout the four-day event, led Georgian cooking masterclasses and curated the culinary part of the gala dinner. Under the guidance of Brand Chef Irakli Asatiani, the Silk Hospitality team presented a specially created Georgian menu for 700 guests. The menu brought together flavours from different regions of Georgia and included 18 dishes. In Shanghai, 21 chefs from Silk Hospitality were fully involved in preparing both the gala dinner and the other culinary activities planned during the exhibition.
"For our company, it is especially important that Silk Hospitality had the opportunity to present Georgia's diverse culinary traditions at such a large-scale international event. Led by Irakli Asatiani, our team created an exceptional dinner. At the same time, our team members actively took part in B2B meetings with Chinese tourism and hospitality companies. On average, around 25 meetings were held each day. There was strong interest in Georgia's hospitality sector and, more specifically, in Silk Hospitality's tourism and entertainment infrastructure. We hope the commercial results will become even more visible as tourist flows continue to grow," - David Rapava, CEO of Silk Hospitality.
"It is a great honour for us to have successfully hosted thousands of guests at ITB China. Behind this success stands the hard work of the entire Silk Hospitality team. We are especially grateful to those who worked non-stop for 72 hours to present Georgian culture and gastronomy in the best possible way to every guest who visited us," - Elene Machavariani, COO of Silk Hospitality.
"We wanted to select dishes that would be interesting for guests and represent almost every region of Georgia. In Shanghai, 21 chefs from Silk Hospitality were fully involved in the preparation process. The gala dinner menu included 18 different dishes, and through this menu we hosted 700 guests," - Irakli Asatiani, Brand Chef of Silk Hospitality.
Silk Hospitality's participation in ITB China once again highlights the international importance of Georgian hospitality and the country's ability to introduce global audiences not only to its travel destinations, but also to its culture, gastronomy and unique sense of hospitality.
